It's an exciting time to launch a new company. You want to have an event to let people know that you are officially in business and allow them a little snapshot of your products or services. Here are some tips to having a great function.
Hire the right venue
It's important to choose a space that reflects the brand you are building, be it corporate, edgy, or more casual. Find a function venue that isn't just big enough for your guests to comfortably mingle but also has some spaces where people can explore your company's products in more detail. This will depend a lot on the type of business you are operating as a new HR consultancy might allow business to book consultations and have tables with brochures set up, while a new fashion label might need a runway to show off their designs.
Plan a mix of guests
This is a great time to invite the people that have helped you to bring the dream of starting your own business to fruition, as an invite to a cool function can be a great thank you. Also include in the mix some potential clients, as well as decision makers in your industry. Try to invite some media as well, as even a small business starting up might be an interesting piece of news to local business papers or bloggers in your industry. Having a party where people in the industry can mingle creates a great vibe for your company and helps people remember the event.
Make the event cohesive
There are many new companies starting out at any time, so it's good to try and make the event cohesive and interesting. Work out the main story that you are trying to get people to remember about your company and weave that through the event. Use your logo and name as much as possible through the event and ensure it's clearly visible when standing in any corner or spot in the room. It's also a good idea to incorporate your company colours indirectly, such as getting everyone from your company to wear the company colours if they don't wear a formal uniform.
Having a great function to celebrate the inception of your company can help launch you on the local business map and gain valuable traction to help land new deals. Choosing the right function venue is an important step to making sure your event is a success.Share
